Dana White: It's the fastest growing sport in the world and it's going to be the biggest sport in the world.

Rachel Crane: If the president of the United States wanted to come to your event tomorrow (UFC 159)?
Dana White: I'm not kidding you...We couldn't seat Obama. He'd have to sit on my lap.
Rachel Crane: Do you wish we were seating in Madison Square Garden right now?
Dana White: For me personally, to be sitting in Madison Square Garden holding an event, it's a personal milestone, achievment, another thing we've accomplished in the sport.
it wont be the biggest sport, but UFC will be one of the most valuable sports leagues in the world. It's already pretty much the most valuable sports franchise in the world.
manchester united is worth around 2.6 billion which is the most valuable sports franchise in the world. The UFC is right around there if not more and they havent even scratched the surface globally.
They just got a chinese deal done which is huge. The mexico deal they announced is pretty big... their deals with Globo and Fox will be worth even more once the current deals run out....
there's still most of the eu which they havent even started on yet... russia, etc...
This thread didn't need anything more than the first comment. Does Dana genuinely believe what he's saying? I hope MMA becomes as big as possible, but I can't see it becoming the biggest sport in the US, let alone the world.
It's not going to happen, but kudos to Dana for aiming high. No one ever accomplished anything great by setting their sights low. I'm sure guys like Bill Gates and Sam Walton got laughed at too for their goals back in the day. He who laughs last, laughs best.
If Dana expects MMA to get big any where near as big as the major league sports, they need to take it off PPV and make it easily accessible on regular TV like virtually all the big sports.
