I've spent little time on the net lately but reading jones apologize and take blame with UFC canceling, I have got to wonder how many opponents I would make my champion turn down before shutting down the whole show on a labor day weekend?
Remember when Anderson fought James Irvin? Irvin's career had promise at that time but even at 205 the fight wasn't about who would win, it was a gimme. It was more about how Anderson would handle the weight. Seems there had to be a way to find someone he would say yes to that could keep the show on.
I heard Frankie Edgar offered to step up. Jones accepted but only at a catch weight of 203lbs.
