I'm thinking its Marcelo. Anyone else?
Should have asked who has the best bermibolo.
I like to think of side control escapes in the degree to which your opponent has you locked down, crossfaced with hands clasped together, etc. Marcelo's brilliance is that he seldom lets anyone get complete control over him, often times just through grip fighting, and his timing is impeccable.
It changes if he does get stuck. Granted, the only vid I've seen of him stuck is from 2002 and he's under some guy named 'Jacare'... Point is, don't get stuck and it makes the escape so much easier.
That's a very point. He doesn't let anyone really make a good grip on him.
No one can hold Jeff glover when he's serious.
Except Caio??
I'd like to see Jeff's way of getting out.
Roger Gracie.
Ryron Gracie
I agree with Ryron here's a video of him using an MMA /self defence version and nobody can do much.
blue belts, purple, and blackbelts in the vid

That's a great vid.
Marcelo is the master of the sit-up escape. Braulio is the master of getting you to North-South and inverting on you, or using a foot in the lapel to recover space.
Eddie Bravo vs Royler's first match.
I wouldn't necessarily say the best, but definitely innovative if you have the flexibility.
