Whoever wins McGregor and kabib will probably hold up the division until then.
If Khabib can stay healthy I see him wanting to defend ASAP. He has already said he is not fighting that much longer.
If Conor wins I can see him wanting a quick turnaround too, he has been away a couple years and he does not want to stick around fighting much longer either.
Ferugson and the Diaz Poirier winner are gonna be right there for the next shot, Lee thinks he is but he is not.
I just want to see the surging guys like Vick, Taisumov, Makhachev, Gillespie, etc… get to fight high ranked names.
Guys like Charles Oliveira, Alvarez and Poirier have lost plenty and continue to get big opportunities, lets see the Makhachevs and Gillespies of the division get some opportunities.
BJ Penn Forever - If I gotta make a prediction I'll say Khabib beats Conor, defends it once or twice and is still the champ 8/14/19 and retires late next year.
By this time next year Taisumov, Makhachev and Gillespie have all broke into the top 10.

UFC could be cool and give us an all LW card but they won’t because it would be noticeable how much better it is than the average card that has old LHWs, WMMA, unranked HWs and FLWs.
Alan Patrick (Alan Patrick Silva Alves) (15-1) vs. Scott Holtzman (11-2) is booked for 229.
Alan is 5-1 in the UFC with the lose being to Taisumov. At 35 he has a very short window to climb the ranks and I don’t see how a fight vs Holtzman does much for him.
Alan is like Khabilov, they have really low UFC finishing rates but they get the UD.
Subsequently, they get fights but don’t get a crack at the top 15.
Desmond Green is the exception to this rule, his past eight fights have been decisions and he is a grinder but he got to fight Emmett, Khabilov, Prazeres, and Tibau all in a row and now he is getting Taisumov. Who knows maybe few fighters have been willing to take fights most of those guys and Green keeps stepping up.
With the Khabib suspension in the air, Kavanah saying he would like to see a rematch in March, Tony being the former int. champ who has earned the shot at the official title with his 11-0 win streak.
Its complex.
I imagine the Diaz vs Poirier winner gets the fight with Conor. Rockhold said Khabib will ask for the biggest payday in UFC history to give Conor a rematch so maybe UFC don’t budge and they do Tony vs Khabib since that is the fight Khabib and his dad want.
I don’t think Khabib and his dad decide to give Conor the rematch, Conor’s behavior has disqualified him from respect in their minds. Money is not the end all be all to them in this situation. I bet the tell Conor/UFC to go fuck themselves and Khabib gets the Tony fight or he just retires.
If Khabib fights and beats Tony, I see him retiring. He has mentioned this as an option and so has his father.
Even if UFC offers them boatloads of money, I hope Khabib refuses Conor the rematch and gets the fight with Tony, wins and retires.
Conor is 2-2 vs UFC LWs. I hope he retires soon just because his fanboys are annoying dorks.
Khabib’s dad just made some instagram post about moving on and Conor being in the past.
No surprise.
Khabib is gonna defend against Tony and if the UFC tries to force him to do Conor II first then he will just retire instead of letting Conor call the shots.
UFC will then try to get Conor to fight the Diaz Poirier winner so they can make money with him and do Khabib Tony.
