Who Moved The Furniture?

What is your day job?

 Congrats and Good Luck Shane

This post shows so much class in light of the recent comments attributed to Mir.

Mad respect for holding down a "day" job AND being a true HW contender. Good luck with the rest of your training camp!

Shane Carwin -
PINKsinglet -  This sucks so bad.  Shane seems like a really nice guy, BUT if he beats Mur then i will be robbed of seeing Brock give him beating 2.0 for the strawberry incident.  Ive really gotta do some soul searching over the next few weeks.

Soul searching shoul have begun with the name "pink singlet"

I bet you won a lot of wrestling matches by forfeit :)

You'd better hope Mir doesn't read that and bust out the singlet for your fight, Shane! Don't give away your weaknesses like that. ;)

Best of luck to you Shane!

I have you winning by KO round 1

WAR CARWIN!

Justinmacd - Sticky this.

TTT for Carwin

shane carwin is a MANS MAN and i hope you ko mir....good luck man...

This is one of the coolest posts I have seen, don't know why but it seems like I've somehow missed the Carwin bandwagon....self admittedly I've somehow missed all of your fights Shane! (I've seen clips of the Gonzaga fight)

Seems like you are at the top of the class when it comes to class though!

Shane Carwin - Somehow this site got blocked at my job

1) Congrats on the youngster.

2) I hope you introduce Mir's face to the back of his head.

3) What the fucking fuck are you still doing with a "job"?

I love my job. I was raised my a single mom who worked her ass off to provide for my brothers and I. She said "Being a man is about taking care of the important things in life, provide for your family, then sports". So I have and will always be a guy who works.

That being said it is not a 9-5 punch the clock type of job. My boss is usually very flexible as long as I get my work done.

I train 4-6 hours a day 6 days a week.
Im hope im not being disrespectful Shane but do you not feel it would be better to put the day job on hold. Because the sport is in fact your job. If you put all your effort into mma it could ultimately make a difference. I think the majority of true mma fans would like to see you with the strap.Take our Mir and Brock back to back.

No disrespect taken. The sport is not my job, I fight because I love to fight. If it ever became a job I might not want to do it.

Like I said I do not punch a time clock. I needed a few weeks off I took it, I need to train longer I do.

If anyone suffers it is me. That being said no fighter lives this sport 24 hours a day. When they are done training (the same time I am) they go hang out with friends, party, play xbox, or chill. I go to my office where I work on my hydraulic models making sure water is getting where it needs to go.

My job is not a distraction.

Not to mention I have a 9 year old boy that is very impressionable. He has suffered with me when the NFL teams stopped calling and I was told I would not be able to compete anymore. He is the main reason I do this. I want him to know that you can do great things in life but your values need to be in line.

Family
Country
Faith
Job
Sports

Congrats!

Thanks, coming from the EPIC Thread guy I appreciate it.

Joe Rogan has all of my fights posted on his streaming internet site, he will give you a free pass.

I can appreciate the desire to keep working, even when other opportunities potentially allow for it to not become essential anymore. Parental figures in our lives define our work ethic and clearly Carwin's children will look up to their father as being the hardest working person they know in the same way I look up to mine, and it will instill a sense of drive and motivation in them.

It wasn't that long ago when even most main eventers still worked full jobs. Nowadays even unproven prospects are jacking in their work. The sport might be growing but I don't see why combining work with fighting has to be eliminated completely.

Right on man, as a new daddy myself I know the stress it can place on you. Good luck with your sleep. LOL

I can't wait to see you teach Frank Mir a lesson in respect.

This sport needs less morons talking about killing their opponents and more men like Shane Carwin. You sir are a guiding light to those that wish to take positive steps to better themselves in any aspect of their life. Thank you for taking the time to post here, it is greatly appreciated.

Congrats on the new baby! We are expecting our first child in June. Can't wait.

Good luck with your fight as well. I would say that with your wrestling background I would love to see Mir taken down and pounded out. Put a smile on the UG's faces and put another win on your record.

Awesome, I'll have to remember to get on that!

Also, do me a favor and beat up Elliot a little for me....I think I remember him tooling me on the ground when we trained during TUF.

tons of respect for the way Carwin is leading his life.

An athlete with a brain and the right priorities, absolutely awesome

Shane Carwin - This fight with Frank is my career balled up into 25 minutes.

Seeing as the rest of your career has lasted a whopping 12:22 (over 11 fights), I doubt this one will take 25 minutes.

Seriously, as a favor to the fans, would it kill you to prolong this one past the two minute mark?  What's the hurry?  Take your time and savor the moment.

I have been practicing my flying triangles, I don't think Frank will be training to defend it.
