I thought it was pretty good. I haven't read too many Thor comics but the Marvel movies are pretty good at convincing me this dude is a thunder god. (Beep) Natalie Portman looked great and her assistant would totally get it.
Can someone explain the final scene where they took the thing to the guy?
He is the collector, he goes around the universe collecting things that have great power and are a threat to existence. He is an immortal that lost his wife and his daughter. Im shure he turns out to be a bad guy later on.
I fell asleep like 3x

And to piggyback on that, it was noted that the Tesseract (from Avengers) is an Infinity gem and the Aether (from Thor 2) is also one (and The Collector says "1 down, 5 to go" or something when he gets the Aether, meaning he's trying to collect all the gems)
Since Thanos is the bad guy in Avengers 3, it looks like they're setting up an Infinity Gauntlet run for that movie
According to Wiki, it was a set up for Guardian of the Galaxies, as Benicio Del Toro will be reprising his role of the Collector in that movie.
It was Benicio Del Torro
I thought it was better than the first Thor. I took my son to see it, but I ended up liking it.

Just FYI, there is another final scene after the credits

I had to pee. Didn't see it.

SPOILER...
Did Loki kill Odin at the end? Is that what was implied?
dizz -Im not sure if Thanos will actually be the villain in Avengers 2. That movie is supposed to follow the Age of Ultron storyline.lildragonof - He is the collector, he goes around the universe collecting things that have great power and are a threat to existence. Plus, if you think about it, counting the Tesseract and Aether, there are still 4 more gems to go. I'm assuming Guardians of the Galaxy will have 1 of them at least. I don't think CapAm 2 will have 1....so we might be waiting quite a few movies for them all to be captured, and have an epic as fuck (or potentially shitty) Infinity War movie.

UVolt -Annnnd I'm an idiot that can't read. You said Avengers 3 already. I blame Vicodin.dizz -Im not sure if Thanos will actually be the villain in Avengers 2. are we sure thanos will be in avengers 3? I thought he was going to be one of main bad guys in guardians of galaxy
Revolting Blob - SPOILER...I'm guessing he caught Odin away from Asgard or possibly somehow put him in the Odinsleep? Doubtful Loli killed him, Odin trades shots with Galactus. But it's the movieverse so who knows.
Did Loki kill Odin at the end? Is that what was implied?

is Loki the bad guy again? Only thing that has kept me from seeing this. I was disappointed he was the bad guy in avengers as well, couldn't stand to see him a third time.
Malekith is the main bad guy in it. Loki is more of a supporting role to Thor and partners up with him.
TtoMyJ14 -Read over the casting for gotg.
