I have a strange feeling that this season of TUF will result in a lot of people.jumping off the Rousey band wagon and even Rousey losing fans to supporting Tate.
The UFC would obviously not do the screw job edit job to make Ronda look bad, but if Ronda gave them nothing but footage of her being surly, bitchy, acting overly aggressive all the time then there is nothing UFC can do.
Look at last night, Ronda finds out Meisha is on the show.storms off and most interestingly says "Where is he" in reference to Dana.
Then during the fights Ronda doesn't say a word, while Meisha at least had some fight discussion with Dana while at the table.
Look at the highlights they have released, Ronda smacking something out of Meisha's hand almost hitting her in a staredown, Ronda storming the gym at the tail end of Tates practice, Rhonda crying...
And all the sound bytes about Tuf from Ronda have been her saying she hated the cameras everywhere, how she wouldnt ever do it again, hiw shes worried she may end up looking crazy.
There is no way UFC would edit the footage of one of their most popular fighters in a way that would makr them lisr fand but i have a feeling that what the cameras captured this season will result in just that.
Put cameras around people 24/7 and they'll go crazy, when was there a reality show without someone freaking out.
And clips shown out of context and carefully selecting what footage is shown can very easily hurt images.
I'm sure some people will dislike her during and after the season.

Yes, everyone knows reality shows can and often edit footage to make people look bad, but there is no way UFC woukd do that to one of their most popular stars and golden girl.
She does
I was thinking the same exact thing. By the end of this season, or probably before that....people will start hating on Ronda (yes, more so than they already do now) and start praising Tate.
I personally could care less about the shenanigans. I like Ronda's armbars, she's bad ass.
Blunderhooks -Hahaha never stopped to think about that until now.mata_leao - I was thinking the same exact thing. Why do people continue to say this when it is so obviously wrong?
It constantly bottles my mind.
Wanna fight now bro?

I'm a pretty big fan of both Rousey and Tate.. they could be total bitches all season and I really wouldn't care. I don't get too hung up on those kinds of things... I like to be entertained. Episode 1 was a good start and I'm not ashamed to admit that I can't wait to see what happens that has Ronda so worried about her portrayal on the show.
It's the classic good vs bad setup. Women's MMA is still in it's infancy and 2 girls playing nice won't get near as much attention as a soap opera fest. What should really matter, but doesn't to most people, is how they coach and interact with the fighters. I didn't like Chael until he coached on TUF, now I'm a fan. Honestly the only reason I watched it was to see Chael trash talk Jones and see how Jones would react. But I was glad to see Chael give a crap about his fighters and how well they did. I would rather see that than another Tito/Shamrock feculence.
Ronda has major corporate sponsors, will beat Tate in the first round as she always does in the rematch (which will be the main event), has a compelling personal story of overcoming adversity to become an Olympic medalist and UFC champion and was recently on the cover of Maxim.
No amount of editing to make her the villan in TUF will make a single bit of difference to her popularity or marketability.
Ronda herself was concerned about how she would be depicted on the show.
Ronda Rousey, shown in December with her UFC bantamweight championship belt, says she's "preparing for people to get the worst idea of who I am" when she appears on "The Ultimate Fighter."

No one's watching. It doesn't matter.

It's "boggles my/the mind."
That's the proper expression.

Oh come on.
Regardless of the TUF aftermath, I don't think future appearances in big-budget Hollywood blockbusters that will eventually earn 9 digits can hurt anyone's popularity.

LoL @ This^
Are you the same guy that said that in a different thread a while back? If so, thanks because after you dropped this "Truth Bomb" on us, I instantly changed the way I said that saying because I was doing it wrong all this time...
The "could care less" problem seems to be confined to Americans only.
All women have the crazy gene. Some have more crazy than others. I'll watch Rousey fight just to see her take bitches arms home for her collection.
100%
Great observation.
100% agree with OP
I don't think watching the two of them bitch back and forth with each other will help either of them. It will get old fast.
she should have learned from the Chael/JBJ season.
everybody expected it to be a trash talking mess.
instead, Chael showed up to coach, they didn't get caught up in silly shenanigans. Even JBJ said he respected Chael's approach and had a different opinion of him than before the show.
And we ended up with a show that was about the fighters, not the coaches.
Ronda and Tate should have followed that example...it's what their team's need and the best way to get respect as fighters themselves...to have their teams say "i'm much better/learning so much thanks to ___________".
