"No chance of going anywhere? He's 26, and still learning. Not like he's in his mid 30's trying to live a dream"
Most of the guys who beat him are in their prime as well ...and getting better ... Koscheck has a year of fighting under his belt and dominated 99% of the fight .. Shoulda never been brought back up at that time anyway ... He doesnt have what it takes to b a top contender ...His striking is average ,,wrestling is average ,bjj is average .. That is without dought !!! Hes a decent fighter well rounded fighter ,but all the training in the world wont bring him to level of the top 70pounders in the UFC...If he didnt land that lucky knee ,kick or whatever it was to Kos this conversation wouldnt b taking place ...
i like that list of cans.when the choke is on tight as that one was your done, better tap or wake up.it was really nice he tried to get up and burkman pushed on his knee which caused the choke to sink in deep.franklin does his triangle the same way it was nice.
... Not sure what your point is .. Its apparent Koschecks wrestling skills arent in dought and he wrestled his whole life basically.. His mma experience is very limited and imo thats why he didnt finish Fickett ... The level of improvement that both fighters have the capability of doing is no comparison ... The tools they are working with are on different levels ....
yes, fickett is cocky, but having a record of 28 wins and 4 losses is pretty good.. let him be cocky, u dont have to like the guy, but to say he doesnt belong in the UFC is rediculous. he deserves to be there just like Nick Diaz deserves to be there, yes he did loss to Nick but it was his first UFC appearance and that has to fuck with your head.. i would like to see a rematch between Diaz and Fickett.. i think the results would be different.. and i personally know drew.. he is not an asshole unless someone is an asshole to him first, like Neer wouldnt shake drews hand and drew did the whole thing in the ring after the fight, but that was after he tried to shake Neer's hand twice, and drew then apologized.. have any of you seen Drew's thread talking about his fight with burkman? he shows nothing but class
Is Fickett the guy who came one here and talked a ton of sh*t about his opponent using all kinds of profanity and about being in prison and raping his opponent etc. Never liked the dude since then.
He needs to stay in B level shows if he wants to compete ... He didnt compete against Diaz,Burkman,or Kos except for the 1 kick he luckily landed after 14.5 minutes of doing absolutely nothing.. and he beat Neer who is a questionable UFC level fighter at this point in his career..and that may have been a fluke as well ... I dont think Neer has peaked yet unlike Fickett who has a ton of experience and doesnt seem to have much more to add to his game ... I mean how much faster are his shots gonna get,,how much more technical is he gonna get on the mat ,,how much bettter is his striking gonna get ??? It seems apparent after 30+ fights ....
I fought Drew long ago in one of Tom Proctors events. The judges gave him the fight, but he and Tom later told me that I should have taken it. Drew was and I think still is a class act. He is cocky on tv, but he's a good guy.
