I've contemplated trying creatine just for the hell of it, but wonder if its not a good idea for me. Heres why, I only lift two to three times a week, and hardly heavy weights, then I box and do bjj twice a week. Well, right now I'm trying to get in better shape and have cut a lot of fat, but still have a lot to go. My fear is that I dont know much about what creatine does and #1 dont want to gain fat from it (if thats possible) #2 I dont want to see results, then get off the stuff and crash and burn. Once you're on this stuff, can you get off and coast into a comfortable weight or do you just lose the ability to lift as much and start to lose muscle? Im a newb, lil help?

No, you will not gain fat from taking creatine. You prpbably will gain some weight however.

Some of the strength gains you may see from creatine usage will probably fade with dis-use. If you gain any actual muscle, it should be easy enough to maintain with some smart planning.

i never liked creatine for bjj. I feel like i would get too much of a muscle pump and make me feel gassed.
This could also just be in my head and i do love creatine for strength purposes.
I'm gonna give it a lil try and see how I feel. Just ordered from supplement direct, just noticed they're in San Luis Obispo, thats where I was born! maybe I should just drive and pick it up!

newera, just start taking 5g per day then by the time you are in the gym next week you will be up to your max, no point loading you will just burn through the tub quicker with no extra gain
I'm just going to start monday when I'm back in the gym and on my "diet." I got 1000grams so it should last me a damn long time, not too worried about it lasting. I'm very interested to see how my body responds to it. I take a good bit of protein every day. In the morning I have about 50g in my breakfast shake, then after my workouts I'll have another shake with about 25, then I eat pretty well, maybe I'll boost to 50 for my post workout shake too.
