Why did Overreem comply with drug test?

He did not have a fight license, do fighters have to let fight commissions test them even though the fighter does not have a license? This is probable a basic question, so fuck you in advance! Lol Phone Post

I thought he had no choice because of the pre-Brock fight mess.
Doesn't he have to submit to 2 random tests?

That's what I've been wondering, that test was random Phone Post

auto suspension..

I assume they just wouldn't give him a license in the future.

I've heard that he already had his two post-fight drug tests. Meaning that the test after the presser wasn't justified.

Probably couldn't think of an excuse why not to fast enough. It was a surprise so I doubt anyone knew the commission would be there. Phone Post

I'm not sure what their authority was to test him, because he wasn't under license, but I think the poster that said they would likely just deny his future application is probably right.

I have it on good authority that he tried to slip out of the room when they announced the test, though.

What a shameful perversion of the entire martial arts mindset.

If you're in breach of the regulations (which his failed test would indicate), the notion of justification for said test surely becomes irrelevant no?

I'm not 100% I understand your question. I think your asking that if the results came back with a dirty sample it doesn't matter why thy checked him in the first place. But I would assume they would have to have an initial reason to test in the first place.

Would be like you getting pulled over for no reason and the cop finding weed in your car. Yea the weed would have been in there regardless, but he would still have to have an initial reason to stop you. Phone Post

Anabolics should be allowed in sports, that way the playing field is still "even", just kicked up a notch. More exciting.

This is another good lesson for fighters. If you going to sauce it up don't get crazy. Spend the money and have somebody monitor you levels at a 4 to 1 ratio.

^^If you stayed at what the legal level is I dont think youd get the same gains as having 3-4x that amount.

According to Mike Chiappetta (who referred to a conversation with Keith Kizer) when he was on the MMA Hour earlier today, Overeem passed three urine tests and one blood test leading into and out of the fight.

It will boil down to the question, whether the NSAC had the right to test him at that point ... if it in fact was a test that fell within the stipulations of his conditional licence or the two random tests had already taken place.

Yeah, to the letter of the law I'm sure you're right. I just think to focus on the commision instead of Overeem right now is ridiculous.
An already big dangerous guy who has repetedly denied any form of cheating for years in spite of huge gains in muscle/size should be on the spot right now having pissed hot. If he can't explain the elevated levels then he has outright lied and 'fairness' to him comes second to fairness to his opponents imo.
Is it even confirmed that this isn't one of the 2 random tests?

Then nobody could compete at the highest levels without using PED.

And that means theyd have to risk their long term health beyond the already present risks of MMA.

Thats absurd.
