It didn’t.
There is a significant chunk of the voting public - maybe 30-35%? - that identify with MAGA.
Trump packaged up American exceptionalism, old-fashioned American values and pride, border security, non-interventionist military philosophy, fair trade, American manufacturing etc. and branded it MAGA.
Name another politician whose campaign slogan has become a movement representing a third of the country?
Whether his policies fully lined up with the vision is debatable, but MAGA is an undeniable success.

It didn’t fail.
It got an outsider billionaire playboy elected President of the United States.
That’s a huge success.
And if the media had been even halfway honest – good chance he would have been reelected despite Covid.
But even without a second term, Trump went a long way in exposing the corrupted main stream media, and the flawed ideology of the left.
If the pendulum swings back in 2022, it will be an extension of the MAGA movement.
Same with 2024.

Trump changed many policies that devoted billions of dollars away from oil production and other things. The people who are in charge of all of this and own it also have their foot in the media business. So they sent to task of demonizing every single thing Trump did and weaponize the media to get him out of office so they can continue making billions of dollars.
Whenever you ask why, just follow the trail of money to get to the truth
