I think diaz is more deserving of a title fight at 155 for choking out the 145 pound champ in the second round. Conor keeps acting like hes back on top. He is smaller - yes he's a big at 45 but he's tiny at 170 (think GSP, Condit, Hendricks, and Rory who was the reason nate said fuck this I can't hang at 170)
I am a Diaz fan and I'm happy to see Conor get a shot at LW. If Conor wins it sets the trilogy but this time with a belt on the line meaning more money for both of them.
he tore through 145, took a hiatus to challenge himself 2 weight classes up where he was 1-1, the dude he destroyed to win 145 is back at interim offering no new drama or intrigue based on how he go it....I'd say the 155 fight is the most compelling and exciting option available to connor from his perspective or the fans.
I actually haven't seen a valid argument for why he should do anything else. I also think it's crap that Dana would make him vacate the 145 belt, as far as I'm concerned if i were Dana, I'd make Aldo have to hear the "interim" qualifier for another 6 months in hopes that he'd be ready to fight Connor again in Spring of '17.
I love Aldo, and sorta don't like Connor, but I have a ton of respect for the way he's shaking things up and making things interesting across 3 weight classes.
