most under rated martial art IMHO. I think the ability to move in and outside the dangerzone could neutrilize wrestlers and most high level strikers. Machidason started losing because he left his karate roots.

GSP says he uses it to utilize his takedowns and he is one of the best MMA wrestlers.
I think Georges "The Rush" St. Pierre is a Prime Example of why Karate is such a Great Sports that has alot of Values like being Patient and having fun. It is a Really Fun Sport that brings the Most out of People.
GSP and Machida implement their karate background into their games very well.

I don't think Machida has left his karate roots. I think people have just figured out that he is a counter striker that capitalizes on small openings, so most know not to rush in and get caught. Most fight cautious against him, but it does seem his killer instinct has lacked since Shogun KOd him. If he got that mentality back, he would be a killer again. He was the first and only to KO Thiago and Hashad, and I would love to see him on attack mode again. He lets people hang around when he is clearly the best striker at 205, and can end the fight anytime against almost anybody.
GSP gives a lot of credit to his Kyokushin training. Lyoto is the main torch bearer for Karate. Not sure about Connor McGregor, but he looked very Karate-esk in his fights. A lot like Machida.

When i did karate as a kid, i dont remember it being fun.. it was like being in school.

There's a reason why Machida is hard to hit for most people, because karate is a style designed for self defense. I would say a small percentage of those techniques wouldn't be applicable in MMA, but trained the correct way and used efficiently, alot of them can be effective.
