Random observation and maybe already been talked about.
Was at my barbers today and ESPN was on the tv there. They had HH on their program talking about her becoming the champ. Well in the highlights they did show never once did the actual head kick play. I've also noticed it on other networks with UFC relations. Is it to diminish the KO, to protect Rousey, or to try to generate more buys in replays?
Just curious guys.
Thanks
They can't due to copyright and licensing.
Same with why they don't in big boxing PPVs like when Marquez KO'd Pac.
clearly because they're protecting Rousey. It's so obvious really and pathetic on the part of Zuffa.

Everyone knows she got ko'd, there is nothing to protect other than the hope that some will order a replay
They never show any KOs. UFC tonight doesn't even show the KOs. They show the other highlights of the fight but as soon as they get to the finish they show stills.
So you'll buy it next time

Somebody has their tinfoil hat on!! Back in reality, copyright. Everything isn't some underhanded plot to diminish/protect one person or another.
It would be interesting to see if coverage of a major fight minus clips of the finish actually have a positive impact on peope ordering the replay.
10 years ago sure, but now with gifs, Vines, HD streams, etc. available within minutes of a fight ending, maybe not.
I ask because IMO the coverage would seem a lot bigger if they showed the payoff during the recap.
