Why Fox News is necessary-

Fox news was created after Bush 41 felt he was treated harshly in an interview with one of the big 3 nerworks back when he was prez. So the GOP developed its own news channel to promote their candidates. They had never gotten a fair portrayal in the msm. Its not the "official" GOP channel, but it is directed from the top to basically be their media and PR outlet.
MSNBC was created not to balance it out in a media sense, but because some genius saw the success of FoxN and figured their was an equal market for a newz channel that is a parrot of the left. Phone Post 3.0

Kakkarotto_san - Revisionist history. Fox News, at every opportunity they can, tries to play the "liberal 'main stream media'" card; but it's nonsense. Networks like MSN and shows like Rachel Maddow didn't even exist before Fox News. Those shows are a response to Fox News.

In the old days (pre Fox News), the news was simply the news... - in fact, it was considered a serious breach of journalistic integrity to show any political bias when reporting the news. The commentary shows were much more balanced than anything today.

It is Fox News that created liberalism in the media today, not the other way around.

b-b-b-b-but MSNBC. lol, no one watches that shit. Fox has about twice as many viewers as CNN and MSNBC combined. Not only that, fox "news" isn't technically a news channel. they put up so much stuff that is utter bullshit that its not actually considered news. Fox Business News is another story, but that isn't waht peopel are watching en mass.

Fox news is a propaganda network for the GOP, people who watch it are less informed about the world then people who watch or listen to juist about anything else, including people who don't watch the news at all.

I enjoy fox. I know it's cool to hate on them but I don't care. I rarely watch but when I do, it's not bad. Phone Post 3.0

The fact that Edward Snowden chose to go to a foreign news outlet to break the most important story ever about our government tells you all you need to know about the quality of the American news media.

Haven't studies shown that MSNBC is the most biased news network on tv at the moment (time and time again)?

Yeah, I'm done here.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffbercovici/2013/03/18/pew-study-finds-msnbc-the-most-opinionated-cable-news-channel-by-far/

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you’re like most cable news viewers, you probably think the channel you favor has a monopoly on the facts and the other ones are nothing more than a bunch of ranting. In fact, which cable network is the most opinionated is not a matter of opinion. It’s MSNBC.

A full 85% of the Comcast-owned network’s coverage can be classified as opinion or commentary rather than straight news, according to the authors of the Pew Research Center’s annual State of the News Media report.

CNN and Fox News Channel, meanwhile, fall much closer to a 50/50 distribution, with Fox News skewing somewhat more heavily toward opinion. Here are the breakdowns:

Not coincidentally, MSNBC also spends by far the least producing its news: some $240 million in 2012, according to an estimate by SNL Kagan. CNN spent $682 million, while Fox led the pack with an outlay of $820 million.

To get a sense of the long-term trends in coverage, Pew’s researchers analyzed more than 700 hours of cable news programming consisting of more than 15,000 individual stories from 2007 and 2012.

Fox’s programming mix, they found, changed the least over that five-year span, although coverage of live events during daytime hours decreased somewhat in favor of cheaper-to-produce interviews and pre-produced packages.

CNN’s changed the most dramatically, coming to resemble far more closely its talk-driven competitors. Interviews, the most inexpensive form of programming, doubled on CNN between 2007 and 2012, while story packages and live events coverage decreased by 50%.

This is so true.

I never gave FOX News the time of day until I was on a boat for about a month.  We had satelitte TV and the captain would only allow the FOX News channel to be on.  The Bengahzi thing went down about three weeks into the trip.  I was aghast.  I searched cnn.com and other news sites for balanced reporting and found very little.  When we got back to land I searched CNN and msnbc and came up blank.  This is when I learned how bias all of these news networks trully are.

Not a Fox News apologist but you can't get a well rounded report by watching CNN or msnbc alone.  Especially if it involves the Obama administration.

Has there ever been a government policy that has solved the problem it was publicly passed intended to solve? Te war on drugs? War on terror? War on poverty? Affirmative action? Welfare? Obamacare? Federal Reserve act? Operation Fast and Furious?

Or is the end result what really is the intent?
If ever we were to achieve the intended result, those in power in government would have no way to justify their existence.

The Club of Rome in their book entitled "The First Global Revolution" 1991 which is a think tank created by the Rockefeller Foundation; (from page 75, first ed.)

“This is the way we are setting the scene for mankind’s encounter with the planet. The opposition between the two ideologies that have dominated the 20th century has collapsed, forming their own vacuum and leaving nothing but crass materialism.

It is a law of Nature that any vacuum will be filled and therefore eliminated unless this is physically prevented. “Nature,” as the saying goes, “abhors a vacuum.” And people, as children of Nature, can only feel uncomfortable, even though they may not recognize that they are living in a vacuum. How then is the vacuum to be eliminated?

It would seem that humans need a common motivation, namely a common adversary, to organize and act together in the vacuum; such a motivation must be found to bring the divided nations together to face an outside enemy, either a real one or else one invented for the purpose.

New enemies therefore have to be identified.
New strategies imagined, new weapons devised."

They are referring to the end of the cold war.
