Why is K-1 on ESPN II

lol, jackangle is correct. Everytime I look stuff up on tvguide.com it lists it a karate, but last night while I was flipping past espn 2 it said kickboxing, I was shocked. lol

I think MMA and the Fox/Fox Sports Networks are a match made in ...um,heaven, cough... The UFC seems like the exact type of 'extreme programming' that Fox likes to promote. How about Kellerman and Rogan commentating a UFC! They'd be yelling and babbling at one another enthusiastically, it would be a hoot. There wouldn't be room for a third commentator, they wouldn't be able to get a word in edgewise! LOL

Thank you Santoro......

On a related note, I just got back from Vegas and there were K1 promotions EVERYWHERE, not just at the Bellagio. I saw them on Taxi's, magazines, and a couple of the other casinos as well. The UFC was around in a few spots as well, but obviously because of the longer timeframe wasn't as well represented.

I was pretty shocked at how much exposure both got.

I think K-1 is out there in another week or so.

I still think their should be a Martial Arts channel. It could show MMA, Kickboxing, martial arts movies, forms and breaking, old ma shows etc. I think there's more than enough MA stuff out there to fill out a channel.

ESPN is the PPV provider for K-1 that's why.

It's in their interests to promote the sport. The more they show it on "free tv" the more people will see it and the more chance that people will order the PPV's as a result.

I too think a martial arts channel would be great! Not only martial arts movies, kickboxing, thai boxing, K-1, MMA, they could also have tai chi/yoga programs, training programs and the like, even programs on traditional herbalism /medicine, breathing techniques, mediatation etc. (though they should probably concentrate more on the earlier mentioned type of thingand leave a lot of that stuff to the Health channel).

The MAN - The Martial Arts Network

MMA, K-1, Muay Thai, ISKA/WKA Kickboxing, The Mundials, ADCC, Olympic Judo, Greco/Roman Nationals, Sambo Worlds, Kyokushin, San Shou, Instructionals (BJJ, MMA, Vale Tudo), fitness and training regimins, yoga, Martial Arts Movies and TV shows, Martial Arts histroy and documentary programs, The MAC (Martial Arts Central - Like Sports Center), documentaries on fighters, teams, events...

Oh to dream...

Good fights tonight, about the 7th time I have seen them though.
