Why is Mike Straka no longer on MMA uncensored?

Elaborate please
Ok so Jim Miller was a guest on the show and Mike Straka told him straight to his face he didn't believe Jim should get a title shot if he beats Melvin Guillard (this was right before the Miller/Guillard fight). Straka was saying what about guys like Gilbert Melendez and Eddie Alverez blah blah blah and even the "bald douche" was like they aren't even in the UFC shut up already pretty much. Straka later went on to apologize to Jim Miller saying he "got too comfortable on the show".

Also, Straka went on to say I KNOW A GUY WHO CAN BEAT JON JONES TOMORROW. HIS NAMES TRAVIS BROWNE.

then Jon Jones was in studio the next show and in got brought up and Straka tried to backpedal but he did a horrible job and looked stupid.

After the Jim miller incident the producers had a talk with Straka and he was really quiet the following shows. He was afraid to get out of line again so they replaced him with Luke Thomas because that's what was proposed on the UG. Yes, we got Luke Thomas that job. Before he was just a correspondent and people thought he'd fit well in Mike's place.

Wow. The power of the UG...

That show is way better than Inside MMA. Luke Thomas is an excellent addition and the bald guy has more balls than any other MMA reporter.

TJM happened

The bald guy is Craig Carton. He's got the #1 rated morning radio show in New York, where he is partnered with former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason. His style and humor takes a little time to warm up to but he is pretty entertaining.

MIKE DOLCE?!?!?! MIKE DOLCE?!?!?!?! MIKE DOLCE?!?!?!

Straka sucked bad, now if they can get rid of baldy, we are onto to something.

Subbn him out for Luke was a good move.

Just watched the Miller episode for the first time, I would have fired Straka as soon as taping ended. MIKE DOLCE MIKE DOLCE, talking over everyone. He signed his own walking papers by being a douche

I've liked straka, from fighting words to MMA uncensored, I think his unique opinion is a nice change of perspective. Dude does have a jack of getting kicked off TV shows though. I don't like Luke too much though, just rubs me the wrong way. Phone Post

I like Carton better on MMA Uncensored than on Boomer & Carton. I love Boomer, but Craig just won't shut up, it seems. And the whole morning zoo schtick is tiresome, at best. At least on MMAU, he seems to realize that he's probably the least knowledgeable of the three. That, and that Nate could kick his ass at any time, so he probably reigns it in some and just brings a certain amount of humor to the show.

Hey guys what can I say it happens. I wasn't very comfortable in the role I was in so in a way they did me a favor. I was in Calgary when Chael gave me a shout out so I didn't see it. I got great support from everyone at the UFC, the fighters and the journalists on media row over the weekend. Joe Rogan gave me a lot of support in the media room at the Saddledome and that meant a lot to me. I read the comments here and yea, the Jim Miller show was a bad night for me. I've already admitted that. Spike wanted to go with Luke and that's great for the show. Luke is an excellent journalist so good for him. Like every fighter who loses a tough fight I will be back. I wish them all well on the show. Also, whoever said Guy Mezger and I butted heads about the HDNet Lorenzo interview has no clue what they're talking about. I never once spoke with Guy during my whole HDNet run so the notion we butted heads is unfounded. From the beginning of MMA Uncensored I was at conflict with doing a good job for Spike and at the same time not deliberately pissing off the biggest league in MMA and the fighters who represent them. As you can all imagine, the UFC and Spike are not on the very best of terms but I am and I'd like to keep it that way. I have been covering MMA since 2001 and will continue to cover MMA for many years to come so thank you for watching and reading whatever I produce. I don't expect everyone to like me, that would be naive. Just spell my name right when you're hating on me. Thanks to whomever put the story on the home page of MMA.TV - that's pretty flattering even if it's bad news for me.

Thanks Mike...

I enjoyed Fighting words a great deal!

I like MMA uncensored, except for Craig Carton...

I keep waiting for someone to choke him.

Good luck Mike!

Big things will always be in store for a seasoned journalist such as yourself. With television, there are so many factors involved for producing a quality product, much of which lie in the editing room. You are someone that has spent time on the mats and understand what you are talking about.. Which some overlook the importance of in this day and age.

You have already accomplished more in your position that most could ever hope to and I wish you the best. Phone Post

Cool, good on ya for explaining straight from the horse's mouth. I'm sure you'll bounce back, we all have our moments. Still a nice resume builder, besides the miller episode I thought you brought a lot to the table (literally...since you guys sat at a table). Best of luck moving forward. Onward and upward as they say

absolutely HHH

Mike,

I don't know about any of the politics of any of it and I dont watch MMA Uncensored (simply because I dont watch MMA TV shows) but from what I have seen of you (just the Fighting Words episodes), you are a brilliant interviewer. You know exactly what questions to ask (you have the balls to ask good questions and in a direct manner) and the fighters always seem very warm towards you. Considering you often ask about sensitive subjects, I think it speaks volumes for yourself that the fighters themselves still have an excellent rapport with you despite you asking them these type of questions. Your interview with Serra was absolutely brilliant thanks to you asking the questions we would all want to ask but not doing it in an invasive manner.

This is a classic, classic interview. Mike manages to ask all the questions we want to ask without making Serra feel like he is obligated to answer, so the interview flows and we get to see inside the mind of an extraordinary person.
