I don’t fuck with Reddit much but I started to a bit to get info on my flight sim stuff. It somehow suggests other sub reddits based on my YouTube or something and it’s reasonable stuff. Groups about comics or podcasts I like, BJJ, fishing etc
Every single one of those is filled with the most faggy, leftist, wastes of fucking space I’ve ever seen. If you could track their IPs and give them helicopter rides the world would be a better place. There needs to be a fucking culling.
It’s because anyone with an opinion even slightly right from extreme left is banned. They have created an echo chamber so over the top that they have outright banned entry subreddits for having opposing views (like r/thedonald).
It was always pretty progressive, but they made a huge pivot to dangerously left in 2019 when the they received heavy funding from the Chinese. Just a year later, they would ban r/thedonald, allow racially segregated subreddits, and adapt policies of things like “misgendering” or “deadnaming” resulting in permanent bans.
It was terrifying when Covid started. There were people openly calling for the deaths of unvaccinated people. Nurses claiming to let unvaccinated people die, so on and so forth.
I’m guilty of going through the popular section if I’m not busy at work and don’t want to be productive at the moment. That place is a cesspool of idiots. Some of the most narcissistic and socially awkward people flock there. Half of it probably isn’t real.
The straw that broke the camel’s back in my case was calling someone an inbred mongoloid. I had no idea, at all, that mongoloid had anything to do with race. When I was a kid, it was used as a synonym for retard. It’s in several TV shows as well where one character calls someone a mongoloid when they mean that the person is stupid.
Imagine my surprise when I got site banned for calling one of the mods for r/stephenking retarded. I had to google the word to figure out how the hell it had anything to do with race.
It does? Mongloid always meant a Down Syndrome person where I’m from. Old school 80’s term. I could see that becoming a “forbidden” word these days though. Down Syndrome people are considered the most beloved of the mentally handicapped. They’re childlike and peaceful, work jobs and star in movies/TV. Can’t be calling them some dated offensive-sounding word.
