Why isn't anyone talking about JBJ going...

to the heavy weight division? Jones (IMO) is a heavyweight that can make 205. There is more competition in the HW division.

This past fight was the first round that Jones might have lost but the fight was never close or even that competitive. If jbj wants to be the "best on the planet" step up so you can have fights that aren't so lopsided and that don't have the physical advantage right away.

any opinions??

I honestly think he's still too small for heavy weight, i just don't see him being as quick and explosive when he goes up (which I think is inevitable) but I honestly believe JDS will KO him really bad and Cain will topple him in the wrestling department

Chicken legs.  Even rogan said they were comical.

I think in about 3 years he will be a heavyweight. He won't be able to keep cutting down to 205.

I dont see jon competing well in heavyweight. Phone Post

People talk about it constantly. He's 24, and is continuing to fill into his frame, and Heavyweight is most definitely not more competitive than LHW

I don't think there's a single guy aside from Hendo in the LHW division that doesn't cut some weight to fight, thus making them all HW's truthfully. JJ actually cuts less than many people, only from about 220/225

He would have the same physical advantage, in terms of reach, at HWY that he has at LHW, considering most guys in the two weight classes(at least the ones in title contention) are similar heights(Between 6'0"-6'4"). Not only that, but he would have a greater speed advantage over HWY's than he would over LHW's, giving him yet another physical advantage.

I thought the same about Reem but look at how he ballooned. (despite the alleged method) Compared to the size of his opponents so far his frame makes him look like a fullsize pick up to one of those 4 cyl. deals. And we haven't seen one competitive fight yet. Imagine if a MW fought a LW (most ww guys can make 185 easily) The physical aspect alone puts the fight to far away, yes obviously the mw wins.

King Koopa - Let him fill his frame naturally. When he hits like 28 I think he'll be in Overeem mode, good luck HW division.

Exactly this, Jones is waaay too skinny for the HW division at the moment.

Only haters think he is too big for LHW. Look at his body, the guy is a lanky/skinny but long 205'er

In 3/4 years he will be a heavyweight, but he has to grow naturally into his frame first. Phone Post

I think for the sake of competitive fights and not cannibalizing the LHW division... encourage him to pack on the pounds. He's a pro, he can be a quality 240 in 9 mos.

Bones will eventually be a heavyweight. Too early for that now though. I say let him break the record for most title defenses at LHW and then move on. Only problem is that I'm not sure that anyone will take a rematch so he may have to fight unworthy opponents for a while. Phone Post

ttt

Jon Jones walks around 225 lbs and after a solid training camp, he's around 213-218lbs.

He's not a huge LHW at all, contrary to popular belief, in a way that Chiek Kongo looks a lot bigger than he actually is.

.....because they arte busy talking about matching up the #1 and #2 p4p best fighters in the world by having Anderson move up to lightheavy............do you mind?

Makes you wonder why all these heavyweights don't just stop doing calf raises, make the cut to 205 and dominate with their physical advantages...

let him atleast beat or tie Titos title defense record, IF he can obviously, before talk of moving up.

Rashad wont let that happen.

I personally like to see a dominate champion in light heavy weight for once Phone Post

LHW will always be a more stacked division than HW. He hasn't even faced a good wrestler yet, don't know why people are saying he's unbeatable. Davis or Evans will be a test. Phone Post

geez man I couldnt even get steadily over 170 til i was almost 29...some guys just dont fill in well until late 20's early 30's. if he tries to force extra weight and size it will slow him down and screw up his whole game

Your joking of course? he's demolished excellent wrestlers and hasnt ever been taken down......

He has THE smallest bone structure at LHW, despite the length....VERY thin wrists, ankles, arms, and bBambi legs...chicken neck and small narrow tiny head...Even young Overeem was not THAT skinny and narrow...I don't think he would do so well at HW at the top level.
