why people repeat what dana says?

i just don't understand it. remember when dana said the forrest/bonnar fight was the greatest fight in mma? almost everyone in this forum and all over the internet just about said the same thing a day later. now that fight is considered just a notch up from toughman.

now his biased against nelson shows again and says he squeaked out a win against wren, that he got beat on the first round. come on! roy nelson may not look like a fighter but he clearly looked sharper than wren in the first round, wren just started throwing loopy bombs that probably only connected 3 or 4 times. i actually expected a better fight but wren made it seem amateur with his standup. where was the wrestling?

now i understand dana hates fat guys, nelson and obviously the best fighter in the whole world.

One reason is because people who are normally afraid to say what they really think about a situation feel empowered when other people (especially someone they consider to have influence) agree with them.

Others just follow what's popular opinion.

Others truly think the same thing.

I have friends who just repeat whatever they hear from the tv show as their opinion.

I was saying Wren won that fight before Dana had even commented on it.

"people suck" - Bill Hicks

Wren won the first round a lot more clearly than Roy won the 2nd.

Exactly. I have friends who do this as well.

It's easier to sound intelligent by copying someone else in the knows opinion then actually thinking for yourself.

The best example of this is politics. But let's not discuss that.

I never heard Dana say Griffin / Bonner was the greatest fight in MMA.  I heard him say most important fight a few times.  Also heard him say most watched on TV (at the time).  I also heard him say it was great fight (it was really good).

I don't agree with his Nelson comments.  I don't really strongly disagree either though.  Nelson appears to me be doing exactly what he said -- playing it safe to get the necessary wins and get in the finale.  If he does (and looks like he will), Nelson darn sure better let it go in the finale though.

im actually really annoyed with people saying the griffin/bonner fight was one of the best fights

thats the kinda fight that appeals to casual scrubs who dont know shit about the sport

sure it may have been important, but i remember watching a TOP 100 UFC FIGHTS on spike once and they had that shit as #1! lmfao!

I thought Wresn won rd. 1 and Roy took rd. 2, but there is no way that Wren "destroyed" Roy in the first and he didn't have him nearly KO'd.

I actually thought this was a great fight, both guys kept the pace high and went after it with some skill. By far the most technical fight of the season thus far.

That's really interesting, and dissapoints me a bit too.  Do you remember how they billed that fight on the top 100?  I wonder if they used the term "best" fight or "most important"?  I'm guessing they probably used "best", and I agree with you, there have been better.  It was competitive and exciting, but technique wise there have been other performances that were "better" fights.
