Laws against sodomy are still on the books in several states with majority republican state legislatures. Why not repeal those obviously unconstitutional and bigoted laws? Time and time again they come up for repeal and get shot down due solely and entirely to republican opposition. I hear all the time how opposition to the "gay agenda" is not the same as hatred, well sodomy laws are hatred and oppression, plain and simple hatred, and they can still be used to arrest gay men even if those arrests never lead to conviction.

Now go ahead and vote me down because this is religous freedom and I'm the bully.
The reason I was given by a state prosecutor is that they primarily use it to add extra charges on to perpetrators who have committed rape or child molestation.
It's not meant to go after consensual adults, although I'm sure that happens at times.
THe thing is, it's not REALLY republicans, it's conservative religious folks. Now, the republican party is tied at the hip to its religious wing, but for guys like me, who tend to vote republican despite not being religious, it's fucking stupid.
I feel pretty dumb arguing that you shouldn't tell me how to spend my money, or what drugs I should take, and tryign to argue that you should tell consulting adults which of each other's holes they can use.
There are a lot of such laws on the books, some states say you can't have sex outside of missionary position, etc. These laws are never enforced against consenting adults, but if they buts a pedo with a minor, they throw the book at them to make their sentence as long as possible

Do I get to say the Democrats who want gun control aren't really Democrats? I'd like to but I don't think you'd buy it anymore than I'll buy that these aren't real Republicans.

Do you think states like OK, TX, LA have a hard time finding charges for pedos? I'm a lawyer, hell, I've represented a pedo. They didn't charge him with this. I've never heard of anyone being charged with Sodomy. Why would the state be so stupid as to create grounds for appeal like that? You'd have to redo the whole sentence. I don't know who told you that but they lied.
