It wasn't stopped because he was cleared to continue by a Dr.
He said he could see okay, and that he wanted to continue.

If it was completely closed the Dr. would have stopped it. Kos said he could see and the Dr. did not see a fully closed eye.
The doctor should have stopped it. And the fact that it wasn't is borderline criminal by the doc.

NotImpressedByYourScreenName - His eye was as bad as Fedor's against Bigfoot so could easily have been stopped IMO. But it was a title fight so I think thru give the fighter every chance
I'm guessing that dropping bombs while sitting on Fedor's chest made the Dr more skittish than GSP jabbing away...

No I am saying you have to be an idiot to let a guy continue to fight when his eye is swollen to the point you can't see any part of his eyeball regardless of what the fighter wants. The doc is there for safety nothing else. Letting that fight go was unsafe.

I don't think they stop the fights for the injury, it's if they can see out of the eye.

Yeah but I wish he would have tried to wrestle, he had a decent chance that way. Took GSP down end of the first round, didn't try again till the fifth
