Years ago, guys would get a call while they were at the bar. Their wives would be at the hospital and the guys were drinking it up. Then he would make a call on the pay phone...find out what the baby was, and then buy the next round!!!

I was present for the first kid. I know this will sound cruel, but it is the worst experience a man can ever have. The wife is miserable and whiney at YOU, the nurses all treat YOU like an idiot and I went in at 9pm and she delivered like 3:30 am or something. sit down to read the paper or nap. Oh No, gotta stand beside the woman, try to go get something to eat or even a breathe of air or a smoke, you get shit for it. Nurses are constantley barking orders at you and the wife is constatntly bitchin and complaining.

The second child, I refused to be present. Call me when it's out.

plug her up

Brilliant Idea sen.

I second the that idea! You should name him after the winner.

DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Get her mom to sit in there with her. That is what I did the second time around.

I was lucky, my wife was really cool and the hospital staff was very pleasant and accomodating. But I have heard some really bad stories...

Louco,
I normally refrain from internet flame wars, but you sir... are an ASSHOLE, and I'm sorry for your wife that she doesn't have a PARTNER. This may possibly be the most inappropriate and ignorant post I've ever read in my entire life.

Being present for the birth of my child was the most amazing, wonderous, life altering experience of my entire life. Drmmr, when your son comes out believe me, some stupid MMA event will be the furthest thing from your mind. Nothing can prepare you for the rush of emotion you'll be feeling, the pride/elation/awe that awaits you my friend. During my wife's pregnancy I found it amazing that people, mostly women, would say "oh your pregnant how wonderful..." and then follow it up with "My labor was awful, I hemmoraged for hours and nearly died". To which I would reply "Lady, what in the FUCK makes you think we want to hear that?" Some people just love to share their misery, especially at the moment of your greatest joy. Don't listen to the assholes, the birth of your first child is one of the truly great moments of your life. Good luck to you and your wife and congratulations in advance.

how often is it that they actually go on THE day. maybe you will still get to see it.

just like you, when my daughter is born in Nov., no fight would be worth missing.

LOSER==Caring more about a fight than your wife & newborn baby.

y'all got no sence of humor

I have a sense of humor, but i'm not too sure about some people on here sometimes, whether they're serious or not.

And I do agree with Live In Vegas (about the wonderful experience portion)

I wouldn't have missed my son's birth for the world. Be a man and accept your only part in the pregnancy(except for the conception)and tape or tivo that shit.

Be a man and accept your only part in the pregnancy (except for the conception) and be there for your wife and your son. I was the first thing my boy saw when he came into this world cause I was right there. Your wife has to endure 10 months of hell and painful ass labor, the least you can do is be there for her. Tape that shit or use Tivo man. LOL @ you guys telling your kids when they are older that you weren't there when they were born cause you had more important things to do.

"Louco, I normally refrain from internet flame wars, but you sir... are an ASSHOLE, and I'm sorry for your wife that she doesn't have a PARTNER. This may possibly be the most inappropriate and ignorant post I've ever read in my entire life. "

Up yours, you weren't there. The staff treated men like crap, my wife was miserable, I was miserable. I was in the Army and in an infantry unit and wasn't allowed the day off. I was there because it was my first born and I wanted to be there. There is no reason for the man to be there in the room with her, we just get in the way and get abused by the staff (At least in an army hospital) I had to be at PT at 4:30 am a little less than an hour after the baby was delivered and I had been there all night. See, unlike all assuming little bitches like you, my wife was understanding and realized that I shouldn't have to deal with that and we decided that maybe I should watch my son, when my daughter was born and so when she was delivered. My son and I went to the hospital. Her mom stayed with her and it was a much more pleasant experience for both of us. If my wife didn't care, why would a fag like you be so concerned. I was expressing my experiences with this and warning the guy what he may go through. I wasn't being an asshole. You however are just stupid and have no reason to even have an opinion on what I went through. Dope.

You said it Winston. Best thread ever. Squalling newborn, blood, yelling, chaos/Fedor vs CroCop, no thought required- enjoy the fight.

LOL at those of you that are joking.

...and FUK U to those that are serious.

When we fail our children, we fail ourselves.

Guys,

I actually forgot that I posted this..lol...

I have the answer. Be at the birth...

My brother will TIVO... the fights..

No internet until I watch the fight...

Watch the fights on Monday..

Drmmr

btw, congrats

Similar situation I had with the last UFC. My girlfriend's friend's dad
died. I almost got dragged out to a funeral and reception hours away.
To somebody who wasn't even immediate family.

Luckily, my roommate was moving out that weekend and I "had to help
him out". She went to the funeral and my roommate and I watched the
whole event.

Booya!

p.s. you should call your newborn FedorCrop
