kinda tired of Ferrell. he pretty much plays the exact same character in every movie.
he seems best within limited roles, like he was in Old School, Starsky & Hutch, and Zoolander. and i loved Anchorman, but that movie's success had as much to do with its terrific ensemble of Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Fred Willard, David Koechner, Seth Rogen, and Vince Vaughn.
pretty much all of Ferrell's movies since then - especially when he has to carry the bulk of the comedy load on his own - have been lame. i barely laughed at Blades of Glory, Taladega Nights, and Bewitched. his latest movie, SemiPro, looks really unfunny too.
i liked elf, but pretty much didn't like old school. and it's the sheeple that are ruining a good thing as usual. we'll have to add them onto the "to do" list for the death squad imo...
I was not a fan of old school as well, but Anchorman was one of my favs. I would have to agree. It's hard to keep it fresh by doing the same character.
Agreed. Old School, Wedding Crashers and AnchorMan. Ferrell, imho, isn't really good as a stand alone character. He needs to have good people around him to make him look better.
i think all his movies are funny as hell, its just that anchorman was the best and everyone is compairing all his other movies to that, its not that they arent funny, they just aint as funny as that
