They are both due for a fight soon, so why not set it up?
This fight would be guaranteed fireworks.
Will we ever see it?
id love to see this fight but i dont think franklin would take it....actually i dont know what franklin wishes to accomplish now that he know he wont get the belt with A Silva around...Hendo is a very bad matchup for franklin, he would pound him out in the later rounds...
I doubt Franklin would be very interested in that.
It's a great matchup, probably the best non-title matchup in the whole UFC.
It also makes a lot of sense because there's no way either guy is anywhere near another title shot, but there's no point in having them cannibalize the rest of the division.
Hendo > Franklin
would dan take Rich down, or would he stand up and bang with Rich?
^both
It would be a great fight. It would be a mistake for Hendo to stand with Franklin, imo. He probably would though.
I'd like to see Hendo knock Marquardt out of the UFC first.
Hendo willnever fight at MW again. Neither will Rich. The fight could happen at 205.

He says Franklin vs. Henderson was planned for UFC 85 after Liddel pulled out but Franklin declined because he felt he couldn't get ready in time after just fighting Lutter, so the call to Matt Hughes was made.
And Henderson says he wants to stick to middleweight so he can rematch Anderson Silva.
I got Franklin in this one!

aaaaaargh
should happen
I've wanted to see this fight forever too, although I'm not interested in seeing either guy rematch Anderson right now after they both got dominated
I could actually see Anderson moving up to 205 with all the rumors now, and then seeing the two former champs (Hendo/Franklin) fight for the vacant belt-- until Anderson comes to take it back
Franklin 60/40 to win IMO, I don't think Dan would really match up well with him at all despite all his nutriders on here
Excellent potential matchup Rhino; maybe it will be confirmed as part of the big announcement by Dana Thursday.
A part of some Superbowl of MMA slated for NYE's??

Damn. Very disappointing - but understandable, I guess.
But the Hendo-Franklin fight is just logically inevitable, and needs to happen to define a clear #2 in the UFC's 185 division.
Now Hendo's definitely faced and beaten far better competition in his career overall than Franklin has - but Hendo hasn't really excelled in the official 185 weight class specifically.
He's actually only had 6 official fights at 185 - and among them, he barely got by Busta with a controversial decision, lost to Misaki (which had been his last fight at 185 prior to coming to the UFC), and then was tooled by Anderson.
So Hendo's actually been more impressive in his career at 205 - even though he was a small, de facto 185-er in that weight class, and hardly even had to cut to make 205 (where he weighed in at 196 to fight Vitor, and 200 when he KTFO'd Wanderlei).
So I wouldn't actually mind seeing this fight at 205 - where both guys could come in as they are, and size wouldn't be much of an issue anyway since neither guy would be at much of a disadvantage (and Rich is probably bigger than Hendo anyway, just as Anderson was).
But at the same time, it sort of has to take place at 185 - since no other possible matchup in the UFC's 185 division makes more sense in determining a definitive pecking order, and proving who really is the #2 there behind Anderson.

That would be nice with BJ/GSP as the main event, this would be a great co-main event. Also maybe Anderson's first fight @ 205.
hendo vs chuck,.... is more apelling
yep
