would I be over-training if I added in 3 or 4 days of MMA training in addition to following Crossfit WOD's? Presently I do 2 days of MMA training, but sometimes those days end up happening on my days off from Crossfit.
thanks

Maybe. Try it and see how it goes. Then adjust intensity, diet and rest accordingly.
I'm gonna go with 'maybe' too.
Make sure you're sleeping and eating enough.

That could cause overtraining, but if you're getting good sleep and eatin well that sounds well within the realm of possibility to me. I usually do 4ish Crossfit workouts weekly, and train BJJ 4-5 times weekly. Doesn't present too much of a problem, for me.
Greg
not sure, but probably not
Greggie, so how do you do it? I'm thinking Crossfit WOD's in the morning before work, MMA training after work...something like that.
and ya, my eating is good, 5-6 times a day, watch my protein, carbs, fat, and supplements. And I usually get to bed pretty early, so sleep isn't a problem, providing I can fall asleep right away.
Just remember, pain is only weakness leaving the body!
Well, I do what you do, mostly. I try to eat reasonably well, and I aim for 7 hours of sleep every night, more on the weekends. That's pretty much it, for me.
Greg
I like to do the conditioning in the AM, and the training in the evening, but sometimes it ends up being crossfit in the afternoon, instead of AM.
Greg
You can try to do both. Personaly I don't like following the WODs to the letter because jits and thai and swimming and other things leave my pretty body sore in areas that the WOD is about to work. So I like to time things to coincide better (e.g. yesterday I did a ring dip workout right before thai and today my tris are ruined (in a good way)).
I've read the suggestion of starting a month late and going from there. But do what works for your schedule. Crossfit serves you, not the reverse.
thanks HHH..funny screen name BTW
