Would YOU take a fight with Overeem

...on short notice for an org that has a history of not paying/delaying payments to its fighters?

Diaz, Goodrgidge, Fernandes, de Souza have all had issues with this in the past, and probably plenty of others too

I sure hope the risk is worth the reward for Duffee in this one.

Well, if he DOES win, he's instantly catapulted into the top 10 HWs, so there is a payoff.

But it's still a huge chance he's taking, no doubt. It must be weird going to your job unsure if you're going to get paid.

Why would anybody who makes a living off of fighting, want to fight for an org that is known to not pay it's fighters??

I would because even if you lose and hold your own and give him a good fight then the pay off will be huge. Phone Post

Hmmm let me think even if hte Japanese won't pay him he'll f@cking be a bloddy millionaire if he beats The reem(it won't happen but some people may dream).

If he beats Ovee Both BlaF and Coker will be on Duffy's balls. Blaf will want to have a guy who just beat both K-1 GP/Strikeforce champ and Coker will want to have a guy who has just beat his Champ. If duffy pulls it off he is going to be freaking rich!

The problem with your scenario is barely any casual fans will see the fight. Having Overeem lose would suck for Coker, but if none of his target audience knows about it will it really matter? Dana never even mentions Strikeforce on a PPV or TUF so even if he rips Overeem after he loses, again, no casual fan would hear about it.

kimbo wasnt ranked top 30 by anyone with a brain, and had came off beating people in his backyard, overeem just won the k1 grand prix, and some rank him top 5 in mma

Correction...Just like Overeem, the promoters said that Kimbo was a top 10 fighter at the time. And who cares if he beat up some washed up old K1 kickboxers. This is MMA.

Overeem = Kimbo 2.0

And the only people who rank that guy, who has never beaten a top 10 fighter in his life...In the top 5. Are either strikeforce viral marketers or fucking retarded.

Overeem is a marketing creation. Strikeforce created him out of thin air to sell PPVs and get people interested. And all these little noob kids are believing it because they hear it 50 times a day on forums.

It's like teaching a dog a new trick, repetition is the key.

Depends on the deal.

Cash up front, hell yes (for the right amount, too)

For a guaranteed, all-expenses paid trip to the hospital, yes I would. For DREAM, maybe not.
