Planet Ink Studios and Wreck MMA are proud to announce new fights for the upcoming WRECK MMA: FIGHTS FOR THE TROOPS on December 12th, 2009.
In the co-main event of the evening Mark ‘Boots’ Holst returns home to Gatineau to fight one of the top lightweights in Canada, Guillaume ‘Il Toro’ De Lorenzi. De Lorenzi is undefeated since moving down to the lightweight division but Holst is his biggest challenge to date. Fireworks are expected between two of the most exciting lightweights in Canada and the winner could be taking the next step to making an impact internationally.
After an impressive showing in his last bout, Mitch Gagnon steps back into the Robert Guertin Arena to face Stephane Bernadel. Both fighters come in with an identical 4-1 record, but with vastly different styles. Bernadel is one of the slickest stand-up fighters in the division and Gagnon comes with a devastating ground and pound to go with a top notch submission game. As is the case for most MMA bouts, the fighter who can dictate where the fight ends up, is who will become victorious.
Also added to the card is Pembroke’s Chris Myra vs. Ottawa’s Xavier Desrochers in a bantamweight bout. Myra’s last fight was a much publicized win versus Robin Black and Desrochers comes in with a perfect record of 2-0.
WRECK MMA: FIGHTS FOR THE TROOPS is shaping up to be the most talent rich event in Gatineau/Ottawa MMA history. In addition to the fights listed above, the card also includes the main event of Fabio Holanda vs. Sean ‘The Pimp’ Pierson and the first Gracie to fight in Eastern Canada; Igor Gracie. Add in the Ottawa region’s own Louis-Philippe Carle, Nick Denis, Josee Aupry and Anna Barone and this card is stacked from top to bottom.
