I rarely get on here, but some of the recent posts/discussion about wrestling makes me feel like I should get on more!! I have been involoved in wrestling my whole life and most recently was a coach at University of Northern Colorado.
For the past 3 years I have coached both wrestling at UNC, and taught wrestling to MMA fighters here in CO. I work with Shane Carwin, Nate Marquardt, Brendan Schaub, Eliot Marshall, Chaun Sims, Alvin Robinson, Todd Duffee, Duane Ludwig, and many others on a weekly basis.
The relationship we have (Grudge) with a few other gyms has given me the opportunity to work with GSP, Rashad, Jardine, and many others as well. This year I decided to step down as an assisstant coach at UNC and focus more on coaching MMA Wrestling at Grudge.
I have attached a couple of interviews/ workout sessions with Nate, GSP, and Rashad that are on purefight.org (same people run flowrestling.org). One thing that has always stuck out to me is how many fighters will tell you that wrestling is the most important art of fighting. You can not only control your opponent, but you can dictate where the fight takes place. Even the guys who hate wrestling and are purely strikers need to understand wrestling to become better fighters.
I hope you enjoy the videos if you haven't seen them http://www.purefight.org/speaker/2525-Georges-St-Pierre/video/145316-Georges-St-Pierre<br

Coach Bowling is a great coach and friend. he is one of the keys to the great fighters that come out of Colorado. He is in every training camp giving everything he has and never sticks his hand out asking for anything in return.
I am sure any of the guys listed above will tell you that Coach Bowling is good for MMA.
We should encourage him to fight, he could be a force in the UFC if he wanted to be.
