Wtf 17-15 in the house

Ok look I am a big fan of Washington fighters representing in UFC but seriously 17-15 is a shocker. Props to Eddy Ellis tho Phone Post

Ross Pointon had a losing record entering the house iirc Phone Post

It's the Ultimate Fighter, not like this guy is fighting for the championship, who cares.

Eddy started fighting at 17 (he's 29 now). He'd fought Jeremy Jackson, Spencer Fisher, and BEAT Chris Wilson...all before his 21st birthday. The kid's put in his time. He DOES have more experience than most of the other guys. He was doing the MMA thing before it was cool.

How many good fighters do we get from these seasons, like 2-3 at most? Everybody watches this show looking for the next world champion, it's not realistic.

Yes, the guy's record is 17-15. If you're looking for 20-0 former champions, you're watching the wrong show.

Well even if he was 0-100 he'd still be more experienced than someone who was 50-0... But yeah would be nice to see an undefeated season with people that have, say, at least 10 wins and no losses. Phone Post

Kyacey Uscola was something like 19-16 when he was on the show. My biggest issue with Eddie isn't his record, it's the fact that he has lost to Shannon Ritch. Actually since I think about it, a fighter that Shannon beat, is now on The Ultimate Fighter... 2012 Year Of The Cannon!!!

if someone has 10 win and 0 losses he is alreaddy fighting for strikeforce, the UFC, bellator or some other big asian show.

Eddie has won 9 out of his last 10. Eddie is a very well rounded fighter. He was put in a bunch of fights he didn't belong in when he was young.

Thats not true. Take Charles olivera, enteres ufc with more than 10 wins and an undefeated record... none of those big organizations you mention. And im sure there are more. Phone Post

Some people train until they get good, some people just jump into the fire. Eddie is one of those that just jumped into the cage. Sure he could've had a better record, but he's been fighting when he probably was too young to be in the cage.

He has early losses to solid fighters like Healey, Jackson, Fisher, and Shultz. His loss to Shannon was 8 years ago when he obviously wasn't ready to be in the cage.

Kid has been a gamer from day one. One a nice winning streak too, so he's coming along. Phone Post

machinegunman -  Ok lastcall, good point.  So where did the 15 losses come from?  There is a guy in the house that was 22-9 going in.  He has one less fight than Ellis, yet he has 5 more wins.  See what I'm saying?  The other guy is more experienced in winning. Ellis is more experienced in losing.  Matt Serra knocked out GSP.  Is Matt Serra a better fighter than GSP?  That's argumentative too...definetely has had more fights.  This show is sold as a sort of miner of the best regional and local talent in the country.

Do you look at quality of competition, or just numbers?

Because you make yourself look like a dick. Phone Post

I'd be wiling to bet that the 22-9 fighter racked up all those wins sometime after 2004 - after the industry was overrun with Tapout wearing douches trying to be cage fighters; and guys fighting twice a month because they didn't fight adequate talent. Ellis was fighting back when the only ones competing actually trained in MMA. These days, any douche will step in for $500 and a chance to brag that he's a 'cage fighter'. I will put Eddy's 15 losses against the other guys 22wins ANY DAY. He's 9-1 the past 7yrs with 8 finishes.

As for the loss to Ritch, there are extenuating circumstances. I was ringside. He was tooling Ritch from mount when Shannon curled into a ball under the ropes. Rather than restart them in the center in mount, the ref restarted them on the feet. Ellis lost his focus with the positional robbery, went after Ritch like a wildman, dropped him then got caught while still mean mugging the ref for the error.

no different than Kyacey Uscola as already mentioned.

Eddy Ellis is legit.  Thrown to the wolves early on.  He is an exciting fighter.

Another guy has a win over the Cannon! Therefore, he wins the whole show.

Yeah, i saw that and thought it was strange when he was introduced as the most experienced fighter. Experienced.....yeeeaaahh. Phone Post

With 32 fights, he is the most experienced fighter. Statement is accurate.
