X-MEN arcade game-PSN and XBLA...

the port of the X-Men arcade game is comong to playstation network tomorrow..it will be $10 complete with online play and all that good stuff..it wont be coming out for xbox live arcade until a month or so later...

i never played it but tell me, what is so good about this game??why all the hype??

well, thanks to mame,it's not that big of a deal.

just like all of the classic child hood arcade games from x-men,the simpsons,to tmnt.once you have beaten them, there is no more point in playing

xbla this wednesday..

mama you cant play 6 player co-op can you???u can on PSN..

about how long does it take to beat X-men arcade?15 minutes?

I don't get why anyone is excited about any of those side-scrolling beat em ups. Basically just button mashing and with unlimited continues the games take like 30 minutes, tops.

^^nostalgia mostly..i remember loving Double dragon in the arcade growing up then i bought the port for xbla and i cant believe how glitchy and short it was..i beat it in under 15 minutes..

gonna play this with the wife

You can get it on Mame, probably not worth buying, IMO.

^this

I have it on mame already, but i'll probably end up buying it anyways to play it on my giant tv with a friend.

Beat'em ups are one of my favorite genres. Some people play Donkey Kong for a high score. Some people play SHMUPS. Beat'em up afficionados usually play for the 'one coin challenge', trying to beat the game with a single coin without continuing.

Those games aren't as fun, but they bring you back!

Bought Final Fight and will buy this too for the reason posted above.

I got really excited for the downloadable Turtles in Time game until I spent the money and realized it wasn't as great as the memories I had of it. I have a feeling it'd be the same for X-Men.

i got it for ps3 yesterday. here's a breakdown of the game..

-the game is short, roughly 25-30 minutes depending on how fast you play.

-playable in american or the japanese versions. (japan version includes heath packs and powerups)

-you can play online in four or six player modes. up yo four players offline.

-online leaderboard.  based on most points in a single match. displays number of credits and lives used.

IMO, $10 is worth it if you are a fan of easy to play nostalgic games that you can enjoy with friends.

At least with the turtles game they redid the graphics etc. THis game is overpriced, I might buy it when it eventually goes on sale as a deal of the week.

Try playing those games with a set amount of continues. Like let's say, you can only use 2 quarters. See how far you can get. Trust me, beat'em ups aren't easy. Just because you spent $25 in quarters to beat the game does not make you a good player

played it through with a friend last night.. i'd say i got 10 bucks of enjoyment out of it.

RyannVonDoom -  they need to put out the AVP game on xbox live. Now that was fucking fun.

that's imo the greatest beat'em up ever made, even better than D&D shadow over mystara. Both of which I can beat using a single coin.

WELCOME TO DIE

The game sucks... Phone Post

Why the F was DAZZLER in that game? Seriously? Fan demand?!

" they need to put out the AVP game on xbox live. Now that was fucking fun. "

That was the greatest game ever when I was like 10 years old. A hotel I was at had it and I went nuts with all the pickups. I was the Predator Hunter ONLY.

D&D SOM I never got to play, only the Tower of Doom and that game ruled too. Nobody could kill the Red Dragon under we grew up and emulated the game.
