Lighter weights featured at XFO 8 in Chicago
LAKEMOOR, Ill. -- It should come as no surprise that an event co-promoted by 145-pound standout Jeff Curran would have the reputation of featuring lightweight fighters.
And the eighth edition of the X-treme Fighting Organization, scheduled Dec. 10 at the Lakemoor Banquet Facility, has outdone itself by assembling a lineup of many of the best 145- and 155-pound fighters in the sport.
Among the top guys competing are:
[] Clay Guida (16-1 with 16 straight wins).
[] Dan Casey (12-0-1)
[] Tommy Lee (14-5)
[] Bart Palaszewski (17-7)
[] Kyle Brees (11-6)
[] Naoyuki Kotani (14-6)
[] Joe Jordan (18-8-2)
And, the best thing is... they are fighting each other.
*Casey and Lee will battle it out for the XFO 145-pound championship.
*Palaszewski and Brees will fight for the No. 1 contender spot at 155.
*Guida, the XFO 155 champ, faces Jordan in a tough non-title fight.
*Kotani faces young Vito Woods in a 155 feature bout.
And those are only four of 14 bouts scheduled for XFO 8. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the first bout set for 7 p.m. Tickets are available by calling Curran Martial Arts at 815 356-0454.

Kit filled a spot in Japan I believe in a pro bout, but here in the USA on our show he still is working towards turning pro. Kit is an exciting fighter and will do well. Omar and him had a good first fight and both have improved greatly since and hope to turn them pro shortly. However, I am just a co-promoter little gopher. I do what I am told.
