XP non-essential services

A buddy of mine was telling me that XP has many services start up by default.

Services that we don't need for the most part and tend to suck system resources.

I am starting to get many people asking me to help them "fix" their computers. I thought I would look out for this as a method to help the performance on older machines.

anyone have any thoughts?

Here to do it manually: http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm

If you are lazy, there is a simple registry patch here: http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/registry.htm

I used to do it manually because I didn't trust the patch, but I have since used the patch many times and it works perfectly, in my experience.
