Yale’s endowment is worth $42B. It saw a 40% investment return last year. $40M is 1/1000 or .01% of their bank account.

Not condoning her actions, but it’s no wonder it went on for years. It’s literally a drop in the bucket.

She got greedy. She could have kept it going another decade.

Over 10 years? And it was probably more than just laptops. Server processors can cost 5 or 10k.

Still, she would have had to steal fucking thousands of them

“Those purchases included iPads and Microsoft Surface Pros, according to court records.”

In the article, she was almost caught in 2020 because of the high volume purchases but explained that it was an upgrade. Then someone anonymously tipped off Yale officials last year about her purchases.

A man goes into a job interview, and presents himself well.

The employer is shocked at how professional he is, “Wow, you have an incredible resume, and present yourself fantastically, but you seem to be missing 5 years on this part of your resume. What happened there?”

The man replied “Oh, that’s when I went to Yale.”

The employer is even more impressed. “That’s great, you’re hired!”

The man is super happy and says, “Yay! I got a yob!”

That is a pretty unbelievable number holy fuck, but damn did she get greedy, at least 6 cars, real estate and then by the end was just putting it in the back of her on campus

Yeah…40M over 10 years at 10,000 is 4000 a year or a dozen a day. And if you drop ship overseas…or ship out in bulk…not impossible. Definitely impressive though.

I wouldnt be surprised if that number included her salary (which probably isnt much) but in cases like this they will include a potential perps salary with the allegations of theft from the same place they are employed by. Not to mention they usually round way up when figuring out numbers. If she was selling a bare bones ipad you better believe they are adding up all the accessories and bells and whistles to each one.

Either way that is a lot of stolen electronics. It sounds like she could have kept going if not for anon tip. We got pics of this crooked ass former Yale employee?

Greed always gets them. There is a Canadian show in the early 90s called masterminds. It was about the greatest criminal mastermind of the 20th century and what brought all of them down agreed.

What would 1:10,000 be in percentage.
