Yamma Pit Backfired?

I know they set up the "pit" idea to keep the fighting continuous, so fighters wouldn't get pinned up against the ropes but I'd assume it did totally opposite. I didn't see the event but maybe someone who did can tell me if I'm right or not. I'd assume that the slight hill would allow wrestlers to get takedowns much easier (closer to opponents feet) and make it harder for opponents to escape when pressed up near the cage. I'm guessing this might have happened.

From what I've read, that is exactly what happened.

I think the producers of the show put too much hype on the "pit" floor, something that just wasn't that big of a deal.

 I wonder what the PPV buys were.  My guess is they got creamed and lost a lot of $$$.
