Yasudas MMA workouts...

Anyone else seen these? He stresses muscular endurance by doing
really high reps in a circuit routine (like 30 reps per exercise). Just
wondering if anyone has done any of his workouts and what the results
were.

^^^ That one doesnt seem to crazy, its only twice a week and how long
can one of the high rep complexes take?

High reps and low weight...seems similar to the idea behind Couture's complexes, no?

^^^ Coutures are 8 reps ea. I did that workout this week, its pretty good.

Workouts like the one Yasuda wrote aren't inherently bad. You have to look at it in the context of the whole program. He says in the article that it is a routine used closer to the fight after a strength and power cycle. Granted I would include a little bit of heavy work to help maintain strength and power but high rep stuff is good for building local muscular endurance. Poor choice of exercises though.

Randy also had a routine like that called Cardio With Weights, which is different than his Javorek complex-inspired workout.

30-squat sets seem to be more of a mental toughness thing.
