He looks good but I wouldn't blame the showboating on the fighter rather than his trainer. At that age you're a product of what they teach you.

Good for him. He looks pretty good, I never understood what people have against showboating inside the ring. It increases the stakes and makes fights more exciting.
Some boxers use it as a way to stay relaxed.

Those kids are really good already, so if they wanna showboat, then fine
If I was his coach/trainer and he did that in the ring I'd walk out and make sure he was told never to step foot in my gym again.

He was pretty upset. But, I told him to look at wrestling and his losses and how he rebounded and went on a tear. Won a bunch of medals. I think it made more sense to him then. He was a good sport. I hope he continues to train. I don't want to push him too much tho. Any advice?

I don't really have advice. I don't push my kids, I support them and lead by example. That's all I really can do. Other than that I enjoy their journey.

13 YO that has competed in both wrestling and boxing well on his way to being better prepared and has already challenged himself that a very high % of the world population.
It's really distasteful to watch people show boating, especially so when it's little kids. That little guy is going to be a fucking nightmare person to deal with as a young man if he doesn't come understand things like sportmanship, respectful engagement, humility, finding satisfaction in the pursuit and accomplishment in and of themselves to name a few. People who don't see a problem with it, don't posess those qualities themselves and fail to understand the overwhelming benefits of posessing them, not because it makes people behave the way we want them to, but because the quality of life these traits provide for those kids themselves. Things like integrity, respect, self discipline are the gifts a man gives HIMSELF every day. Only the ones who have it will understand it, this little guy shaking his shoulders and strutting around is being denied this lesson by whomever is modeling this behavior for him, and permitting it to occur in him. The older I get the fewer adults seem to be in the room anymore.
