Let's come together and provide what was/is our favorites from both worlds, regardless of whether you liked one more than the other. For those of you who hate(d) one, just try your best. You don't have to list up to three, even one will do. Thanks.
UFC
1. Elbows to a grounded opponent.
2. No soccer kicks or stomps to the head of a downed opponent. I used to love them, but now knowing what we do about head trauma and its ramifications, I am actually thankful they are not allowed. May seem pussyish to some, and you have the right to feel that way if so. I may be in the minority on this one.
3. DFW and the Ferrita's promotion. Took a sport on the verge of bankruptcy and made it into what it is today. However, DFW at times is also one of my least favorite parts of the UFC, so I'm a bit conflicted and admittedly self-contradictory on this one.
Honorable mention: Higher ups not afraid to publicly call out fighters for crappy performances, say certain refs suck balls, and that some judges have their heads up their asses.
Pride:
1. Yellow cards for stalling (are you listening, UFC???)
2. Grand Prix and Bushido Tournaments (simply orgasm producing)
3. Fight scored in totality, not via some Mickey Mouse 10 must scoring system.
Honorable mention: Crazy Pride Lady
I feel the UFC should incorporate more of what made Pride great to make their product even better. And I'm a 50/50 UFC/Pride guy - so no bias.
