His fight vs Ribeiro at C2K was brutal.

Great post. I have always been a huge fan.
I saw him and his girlfriend do an MMA demo in Japan that was truly beautiful, and it was just slow sparring.

Kondo was awesome
He didn't KO frank though, he dropped him, fell out of the ring and his head hit the floor if I remember correrctly, but he did beat him pretty good

Kondo is a legend of Japanese MMA... Having said that, was his headkick "KO" of Frank Shamrock legit? Looked a bit questionable to me and Pancrase had occasional works back then.
OP you never let me down. Great thread. My ex was a huge fan and would always talk about how underrated he was.
Natural WW/MW that didnt find a lot of success due to the lack of weight classes.

Robbed against Hendo!
He sure lost a lot of size/bulk when he went over to PRIDE...not sure that was a good time to start doing that vs Igor and Wand.
His head kick of Frank was cool, if a little goofy, and possibly worked.
Loved his fight with Hendo, and remember thinking that Kondo legitimately won. Hendo would blame the flu or something but it was a good showing that Kondo should be respected for.

Kondo's KO of Frank is legit
Agreed. He is one of the best from the mid to late 90s era. He is q legend of the sport but he hardly ever gets mentioned alongside people like Shamrock, Bas Rutten, Igor and all those.
Great fighter the masses need to be educated on.
