Does anyone on here have Esfiha's DVD set? I'm thinking of picking it up, but I am looking for some opinions on it. For the Canucks on here: Does anyone know if these DVD's retail in Canada - I want to avoid all that customs crap.

I have ordered from Island before and don't believe there were any problems with customs/duties etc.
Esfiha's tapes show very practible applications of moves we all know, just various ways to put them on...usually depending on what your opponent is doing! The attacks from the side is awesome... esfiha shows stuff that he does/uses on a regular basis...

Cool - thanks guys. Subaru: So, did you have to pay much to customs when Island has shipped to you in Canada? Just trying to budget, as I HATE getting nailed with those stupid extra expenses.

I wasn't overly impessed with the Esfihas, If you're looking for a no gi set I would go with the Garcia's or if you are looking for Gi, the Saulo's are the best on the market period. Check around and you will see 90% of the people agree with me on those two sets.

Thanks for your comments, but the thread was about the cost and duties for this set. I agree that Garcia's tapes are great. But also Esfiha's tapes have very efficient moves. Moves that I have used in competition on a reg basis.

no offense I wasn't impressed with the esfiha's. I was rather disappointed in them compared to a lot of other sets on the market. But this is your instructor so I'm sure you think they are the best. Also, I don't think you should worry about it since it was darb I was speaking to about it, not you. I'm sure if he had a problem with my post he would have spoken up, he doesn't need you to do it for him.
I remember seeing him at the last OSWI event. He's a big fella.

If i remember correctly the last couple sets I have ordered from Island I had no surprise cost with duty and or shipping..
I would say the best aspect of Esfihas tapes are the way he uses his size and weight and incorporates the moves accordinging...
There is no fancy or moves you probably haven't seen, only ways to move when opponent is in specific positions/or hand placement etc...
If you don't order the entire set I really suggest the side attacks!
