Not sure if this has been talked about but what better way to launch Zuffa Boxing then with a match up between Paulie and Conor? What if this has been the plan since the beginning? I am sure a bit will depend on the outcome of MayMac. If this is the plan its one of the most orchestrated, genius plans I have ever seen.

I couldn't see Mayweather giving up the reins unless he loses. But if he does it would be a possibility.

the ufc is a 4 billion dollar company, what makes you think they need to branch into boxing? They are already the leader in MMA. WOuldnt be be smarter to invest into continue to build here? MMA has a lot more growth potential then boxing

hard to disagree completely. But with that said, do you think there are more mma gyms opening vs boxing? Add to that, boxing already has powerhouses in place. Very tough to get past that even if you can put on a better show. Look at mma, good shows come out but can maintain against the ufc for the long term

I don't think they need to. But it looks like they are and this great oppurtunity to do it.

Interesting business perspective

Do not diversify.




I don't see them going into boxing as a full time promoter, but if they can do 1 offs for real big events, why not capitalize and take in the cash?

Lets keep in mind the boxing model is completely different than the MMA model and any single person with a license can promote fights. The more money and connections that little guy, the bigger events he can promote. No one's mentioned Zuffa had to go out and get a license for this event they're promoting, and that's their reasoning, but if there's more fights to be made, why not ?
