What about GSP? He has a legacy to think about, it's more than just fighting top journeyman, he has to carefully pick his opponents and they have to be great. GSP has nothing to gain and all to lose fighting Condit.
And what about Penn? Zuffa ripped him a new one didn't they? He has a legacy to think about too. They throw BJ under the bus and he's in a perpetual state of limbo.
It's a sad day for all if Zuffa doesn't right the wrong.

I don't see this move as disrespecting Penn. Either Penn or Condit could have replaced Diaz since they were both fighting on the card already, but Condit makes more sense because Penn already lost to GSP twice.
Similarly, subbing in Condit is not disrespectful to GSP. Condit probably would have gotten the title shot had he beaten Penn, and Condit was arguably more deserving of the title shot to begin with.
Condit deserves it more than Penn right now, BJ will get something even if they don't find an opponent for him, or if they do, he'll get something extra for the switch around. But the guy who deserves what he got the most is diaz. The whole world isn't out to get you homie

LOL!! So you are going to tell me that Nick Diaz is something more than a top journeyman?
The thing was that Diaz was missing and not even his manager or trainer knew what was up. If UFC needs to replace Diaz they had to make that decision as soon as possible. A simple phone call would probably had saved the situation.
