1 current UFC champ with belt more than 14 months

That person being Mighty Mouse.

Is this just a fluke-like time in the UFC with all the belt changing, or a sign of things to come?

Every current champ except Mighty Mouse and Lawler won their belt in 2015 or 2016. Lawler won his Dec. of 2014 (held it for just over a year now) and DJ since 2012.

No current UFC title holder has held the belt for more than 14 months other than one champ.

Do you guys like this, or do you prefer long champ reigns?

Mad Chendez - Simple answer: USADA testing Phone Post 3.0

But if the majority of the contenders were also taking PEDS (quite possible) and not just the champs, wouldn't that even things out both before and after USADA testing?

According to the UG, Conor will have them all soon and never relinquish them. Phone Post 3.0

It's why Ronda got such a big promotion push, they didn't expect her to lose.

Pettis is still on Wheaties boxes with the belt. Phone Post 3.0

True. Why was Pettis the chosen MMA fighter to be on the Wheaties box? His title reign was not very long. I think at the time they were expecting him to hold it for awhile.

Well 2 guys were stripped of their belts, if that means anything. Phone Post 3.0

pushZIGGLER - Is Mighty Mouse scheduled to fight again or did they ax the division? Not that I'm interested in watching or anything Phone Post 3.0

Rumored to fight 10-0 Henry Cejudo next. We'll be reminded a thousand times of the speed of the smaller guys as they run around the octagon.

That's the only fight I want to see him in at this point or another fight with Ian but idk if Ian will fight again and I only want that fight because I'm a fan of Ian's. Phone Post 3.0

TheBigRedOne - Why 14 months as a guage?

Because that's the time frame for only one champ. Anything less than that would include Lawler, who has held it for just over 13 months. I could have said 1 year or more and included Lawler, but decided not to since it's barely been over a year for him, plus a number of people think he lost the fight to Condit, and therefore the belt. But that is a different topic.

Mighty Mouse is the only one who has held it for a significant period of time. He also has 7 title defenses. The next closest is 2.

He's a pretty boy... I think Luke Is going to hold the belt for a while in a division full of killers.

It's simple: The UFC over pushes and overhypes the fighters. For example Conor Mcgregor just won the belt, has 0 title defences and is already fighting for LW belt and even talks of a WW belt, and talks of "McGOAT." It really makes guys like GSP, Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, Fedor look so special.

Super Bowl champs don't even win back to back and football is far more developed and refined a sport. Too many variables to make it common for one to stay at the top for long. Phone Post 3.0

No he was definitely the interim champ. Phone Post 3.0

" interim champ" is another way go saying "he wasn't the champ."

because three of the most dominant champs in the history of the sport aren't fighting right now.

just go reread your similar post from a few weeks ago.

I think interim champs that win the title is considered a defense Phone Post 3.0

And he defended his interim belt? So he's still the interim champ?

Dugs95 - Crux never lost his belt Phone Post 3.0

He never lost a fight during the time (of course was only able to fight once in 4 years and 3 months) and I think there is a good chance he could have remained the BW champ. However, he was forced to vacate the title, which is why Barao's description of interim champ was changed to undisputed BW champ, and Barao owned the BW belt.
