Good article..

I do have to disagree with rule #10 though (respectfully of course)

In a tourney your not facing 1 person where you can build a game plan for like in MMA and for this reason I feel more nervous when I compete in BJJ than when I fight. Phone Post

I think this point bears further explanation on my part (probably another article at some point).  A game plan is definitely necessary to be successful in competition BJJ at the higher levels, and for a beginning student, it's often very helpful.  It has to be more of a general strategy, where you play the percentages.  If you go out there thinking, "Let's just see how it goes", and don't ever develop any sort of will to determine the direction the match will take, the match will take the direction your opponent wants, skills being relatively equal.

I have a lot more to write about this one, so I will add it to the list of expanded articles.

Thanks for the feedback!

BrCutter -  Nice list goat, but why did you leave off "keep focused on the huge fatty meal after the comp"?  I know how you roll.

I knew you left that off the list on purpose.  Nice of you to step up!  It's like Rickson's invisibile jiu jitsu.  Goat's secret to competing.
