2011 Is Not Year Of The Cannon

Ten-year veteran Joe "Diesel" Riggs (35-14) needed a mere 56 seconds to to score a stoppage win over MMA ironman Shannon "The Cannon" Ritch (47-75). Both fighters were hoping for a much-needed win in the main event of the "Duel for Domination: MMA Extravaganza" bout in Phoenix, but it was Riggs who snapped a three-fight losing streak. Ritch falls to 2-10 in his past 12 bouts.

Shannon goes down quicker than a struggling actress at an audition. My concern isn't people who know who he is wasting time and money on him it's the people who may be attending their first show who have to see him flail around until he falls on his back and taps to strikes.

It is somewhat mind blowing that he was allowed to fight Saku in Pride.

True. I think this should have been stopped 40 or 50 fights ago.

Shannon just needs a year full of these:
