I agree with you. I think maybe a dozen of those guys could be in the lower part of the UFC top 15, and maybe a few of them in the top 10. I see virtually none of them being in the top five or challenging for a UFC belt. There is a better probability in the higher weight classes.
They are still very skilled, just not at the elite level of the UFC. I see PFL being just below Bellator in terms of overall skill. However even if unranked, a lot of PFL fighters could have a decent or even great run in the UFC.
I dunno, PFL just always seemed kinda bush league to me. Add in a WMMA main event that nobody cares about. Letās be real, outside of a select few people nobody cares about Kayla.
They should be promoting the shit out of Ray Cooper because heās their one constantly exciting fighters. I turned that shit off after his fight.
ESPN deal is up so will be interesting to see where they go next year. They got financial backing and has potential to eventually be something but they need the right broadcast partner who will promote it. I dont think they made much of anything from ESPN, but will likely get paid a bit more in their new TV deal.
In the same way people get invested in previously-unkowns on reality TV shows, people might get invested in someone who has fought their way to a million dollars even though they have never heard of them preciously?
Reality TV does not generally start with big starts.
Having Wiz Kalifa (sp) āperformā live during the event is a bad sign. Live Music performance and mma has been tried countless times and failed every single time, except when its for a fighter entrance.
It would be fun and interesting to see how Ray Cooper would do at 170 . He hits hard and can wrestle but does he break the top 5? Him vs Neal or Masvidal would be entertaining
Iām hoping the WW division is fireworks this season. Cooper, Magomedkerimov (they are 1-1 now), Rory, Tibau, Zeferino, an undefeated Russian a couple other vets.
Will be a lot of rematches as its pretty much the same field as last year but Iām on a WW kick right now because MVP Storly, Lima Jackson, Koreshkov Daley, Luque Muhammad and Chimaev Burns are all coming up soon.
