I have to kindly disagree. I think the smaller gloves will help and she has as good of punching technique as any in the world. When she lands those opponents are visibly affected every time she has landed. They recoil or shoot every time.
Once she learns wrestling and keeping it on her feet she is going to be knocking some people out and destroying many others.
She is still young if she sticks to Jacksons and trains hard she is going to be a big problem.
Cooper is a great example of a fighter who can use his small size to his advantage. Height is only an advantage to the fighter who can use it to there advantage
Also is that even a good camp anymore? I read somewhere that Greg Jackson is pretty much done and it’s just Wink now. Something like the gym’s winning percentage has dropped to the 20% range in major promotions after previously being in the 90% range.
Shields was pushed way too early into MMA. I don’t understand why they would push a grappling novice with a few months of training learning wrestling against opponents that have grappled for years.
She needs another year at least of training at Jackson’s.
I think another issue with Clarrisa might be adapting her striking to MMA. Its easier to land in boxing with bigger gloves and no threat of a takedown. Honestly hope she improves and goes on a run
