At the rate these people fight, would we get to see it before 2024?
The fight makes sense, and it’s the only way you get Jon back, frankly. He’s made 2 “demands” and it’s wanting more $, and wanting to fight for the belt.
If Francis is hurt, and likely negotiating his way out of the UFC, Jon can either fight Stipe now for the Interim belt, which is then converted to the “real” belt after Francis is out of the UFC…so it’s the only belt Jon can fight for right now…and the Stipe fight is the most marketable fight, so it’d make the most $.
and another piece that benefits the UFC…if Jon wins the interim, and a big $ fight is there for Francis, it might get him to re-sign too…and if Francis doesn’t, people forget he exists because they have Jon as champ.
It really is the only thing that makes sense.
Jones is a genuine piece of garbage. I don’t even wanna root against him. Just want him to be out of the picture.
