I read a little earlier in another thread that Tim Sylvia made $80,000 for his fight against Tra Telligman. Is this anywhere near accurate? And is that taking into account win/ppv/sponsor bonuses?
I know there is a lot of talk going around about the UFC payrates, I'm just trying to figure what's what.
He made 45,000 to show at 59. The CSAC apparently only reports show money so judging from the past Nevada cards that would mean Tim made $90,000 at 59. Which would be consistent with successive wins and sounds decent to me.
Incidently, Arlovski made $90,000 to show. He obviously was re-signed to a much more lucrative contract which if similar to the other top guys means he could have made $180,000 for his fight.
This is, of course, part speculation, but the numbers posted on this site earlier as to total fighter payout is clearly in error and much to low.
Wow nice, thanks for clearing that up grafzep. I can see the argument that other fighters are getting too little, but it seems like the top guys are getting a decent payday. Thanks again.
You're welcome, but like I said I'm speculating on the win bonuses.
I agree, the paydays for the top guys are getting much better. I think the most profitable part is the value of the exposure reegarding endorsements and the like with the UFC exploding like it is now.
I am surprised no one has picked up on the Arlovski payday. $90,000 in a loss is a huge pay increase for him and would seem to indicate he has been signed to another contract. Probably a big reason for the immediate rematch.
The earlier reported numbers were correct, they are just "show money." CSAC does't report "win-bonuses" apparently. So the totals are something higher than those figures reported by CSAC.

I doubt it, I suspect that the win bonus stops being 100% when your base goes up this much.
