Belal Muhammad is set to fight for the UFC welterweight title at UFC 304 in Manchester, but that doesn’t mean he’s a big fan of the common fans UFC draws these days.
In a recent interview with the Money Loyalty Respect podcast, “Remember The Name” gushed about how WWE fans support their superstars no matter what. UFC fans? Not so much.
“Being at [WWE] events is funner,” Muhammad said. “It’s like the complete opposite of UFC because those people are so into it. No matter what you’re doing, like, you could literally throw a punch or run into the ropes and the fans are going crazy no matter what, because they’re real, true, fans.”
“UFC fans, it’s just like you said, 90% of them are just drunks that don’t care about anybody else unless they’re bleeding and standing in front of each other just banging it out … A lot of these people are just waiting for that viral moment, that viral knockout, that viral power slap or something nowadays that could go on TikTok.”
MMA fans can’t seem to go a week without being denigrated by the fighters. Don’t worry, though — I’m sure you, dear reader, are part of the elevated 10%.
Rather than cater to the drunks and TikTok view chasers, Muhammad concentrates on setting a good example for his fellow Muslim fans.
“I hold myself to higher standards because I do have those younger Muslim kids out there that are looking up to me,” he explained. “When they see me praying or something, it motivates them. And I’d rather have that more so than the drunk guy at the bar that’s, like, ‘Oh, Bully B’s a beast.’”
“Because those guys, once you lose, they’re gonna be the same ones that are saying, ‘Oh, you suck.’”
Muhammad will have his chance to prove the haters and the doubters wrong when he faces Leon Edwards in the wee hours of the morning on July 27th in Manchester, England.
Only the fun ones.
Bully B? Nobody has ever called him that, Boring B perhaps but that is it.
Belal is one of the least interesting people and fighters in the history of the WW division.
Who in their right fucking mind would prefer to watch him compete over Shavkat, Burns, Brady, MVP, Garry, Usman, Edwards, Luque etc…
Tumenov is champ over in ACA, Magomedkerimov is like 16-1 in PFL and Jackson is Bellator champ. I’d rather watch any of them compete besides Belal as well.
Nobody likes him at all so it was a matter of time before he turned on the fans.
Thank God Colby is 36 and Belal is 35…the UFC WW division will improve with them gone.
there are some bad drunk fans
some of em even eat pork!
but u cant call em “all” drunks
thats like saying all muslims are terrorists
ps: r1 to edwards
Belal getting more fans by the day.
I hope Leon fucks him up so bad.
fyi, not many drunks are saying that. in fact, i don’t know how many people refer to him as ‘bully’. i think most people use less flattering terms, or B-lol, which is new on me and very funny imo
this is coming from the closest he has to a fan on this board! LOL i respect boring effective fighters. if he wants to call me a drunk, that hurts my fucking feelings.
ah well, like i said to a friend years ago - of you don’t like any mma fighter, don’t sweat it. just stick around. sooner or later they will get KTFO.
Im too drunk to know who Belal is.
You didn’t remember his name?
What a stupid fuckin article
Bully Belal is my new favorite nickname
The Human Sleeping Pill has no room to talk.
agreed , but im equal opportunity media. Bad and Good
Hey Belal, the sober fans hate you too.
